Last updated: 6 October 2026
Who we are
Mareferro Advisory is the trading name of Mareferro LTD, company number 17483922, United Kingdom. Mareferro LTD is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this notice.
For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email contact@mareferro.com.
Postal contact address: 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom.
This notice covers visitors to our website and people who contact us about our services. Where an engagement involves additional uses of personal information, we will provide further information as appropriate.
Information we receive
If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and any information you include, such as your name, role, organisation, telephone number and attachments. Please provide only information relevant to your enquiry.
You do not have to contact us or provide personal information to browse the website. However, we may be unable to respond to an enquiry without sufficient contact details or information about your request.
When you visit the website, technical information such as your IP address, browser information, requested pages and access times may be processed to deliver and secure it.
Why we use information
We use enquiry and business-contact information to respond to questions, discuss potential engagements and manage business relationships. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with people who approach us and operating our advisory business. We consider the impact on individuals when relying on this basis.
Where you personally are a prospective or existing contracting party, we may instead use information where necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, or to perform that contract. This basis does not automatically apply to employees contacting us on behalf of a corporate client.
Technical information is used to deliver the website and maintain its security and reliability, relying on our legitimate interests in providing a functioning and secure website. Information may also be retained or disclosed where necessary to meet applicable legal obligations.
Service providers and sharing
Information may be processed by providers supporting our email, website hosting and IT systems, and by professional advisers where necessary. We may disclose information to public authorities where required by law.
We use Webhosting UK COM LTD (WHUK) for website hosting and email services. You can read its privacy policy and data processing terms.
CRM and mailing lists
We do not use a CRM or operate a mailing list at launch. If we introduce these services in a later phase, we will update this notice before the new processing begins and provide any additional information or consent choices required.
Website fonts, cookies and external links
The current website loads Cormorant Garamond and Inter through Google Fonts. Your browser connects to Google to request these fonts, which discloses technical information including your IP address and request headers. Google describes this processing in its Google Fonts privacy information.
The current website code does not set cookies or use analytics, advertising trackers, account registration or an online enquiry form. Clicking our email address opens your email application; information is sent to us when you send an email.
Links to other websites, including LinkedIn, take you to services with their own privacy practices.
International processing
Our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. WHUK states that it stores data in the UK and may use support staff outside the European Economic Area. Google Fonts requests are processed by Google and may involve international processing. We require transfers of personal information subject to UK data protection law to use applicable adequacy arrangements or appropriate safeguards. Contact us at contact@mareferro.com for further information about relevant provider arrangements and safeguards.
How long we keep information
We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this notice. Retention depends on whether an enquiry remains active, whether it leads to an engagement, and any applicable record-keeping requirements or need to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Our standard retention period for enquiries and client/business correspondence associated with an engagement is one year, starting when the first engagement is initiated.
For enquiries that do not lead to an engagement, we retain correspondence for one year from the last enquiry. Where an engagement continues beyond the standard period, we keep records while they remain necessary to manage that engagement. We may keep relevant records longer where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Technical logs are retained only for as long as necessary for website operation, security and investigation of incidents, subject to the hosting provider’s retention arrangements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing, or a portable copy of information where the portability right applies. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.
If we rely on consent for any future processing, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, contact contact@mareferro.com. We may need to confirm your identity. We will respond within the applicable legal timescales, normally one month, and explain any permitted extension.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how we handle your personal information, please contact contact@mareferro.com so we can investigate. We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days and respond without undue delay, keeping you informed of progress.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice when our practices change and show the updated date above. Where required, we will bring material changes to your attention.
